Moderately saturated dark red. Initially reduced, gamey aromas clear with air to reveal flinty red cherry, blackcurrant and herbs. Then sweet, supple and silky, with a liqueur-like ripeness and enticing aromatic character to the flavors of strawberry, raspberry, leather and licorice. Finishes with youthfully chewy tannins and excellent length. A very serious, well made Chianti. Decanting it a couple hours in advance should eliminate the gamey character completely.
