(from a .45 ha parcel of 70-year-old vines) The ripest wine to this point with black raspberry and cassis aromas that complement the rich, sweet, concentrated and opulent full-bodied flavors which conclude with a spicy, serious and dusty finish that is impressively powerful and long. Méo always seems to craft an unusually sophisticated wine from this cru and so he has again in 2004.

($260) Good full red with ruby highlights. Wild aromas of red plum, leather and earth. Fat, sweet and broad, but with a restraint to the flavors of raspberry, plum and earth. Quite tight today, and showing less lift than the other 2004s I tried. Finishes with big tannins but also a lot of fruit.
