A supremely elegant and pure, even ethereal nose of white flower, citrus and limestone aromas are followed by medium full flavors of simply unbelievable intensity and stunning length. This is a terrific effort that just oozes class, grace and refinement in an understated style yet the focus is laser-like. This is my kind of wine and when a great Chevalier is "on", there is literally nothing like it. Wow.

($425) Ineffable aromas of powdered stone, violet, lemon, lime and sea salt. Precise and penetrating wine, with outstanding clarity, energy and cut. Subtle but endlessly complex flavors of crushed stone, citrus peel, hazelnut, flowers and spices. Conveys an impression of chewy extract and yet seems utterly weightless. Wonderfully gripping wine but not austere or hard. This must be one of the longest wines of the vintage. Boasts great inner-mouth energy and lift.

Cask Sample Great combination of depth and delicacy. Lovely texture and some hint of walnuts. Grainy and bone dry with great tension and wonderful green fruit flavours. This and the Batard-Montrachet beautifully express terroir. Very, very long.

Intense. A little shy in aroma, then explodes on the palate with floral, citrus, peach and spice flavors. Structured and integrated, it expands from the midpalate to the finish and builds in intensity to a long, toasty finish. 25 cases imported.
