This is quite forward and while not soft, there is velvety quality to the finish that presently masks what are firm tannins on the pepper-infused and again, youthfully tangy and noticeably warm finish.

($52) Good full red. Exotic blackberry, raspberry, minerals, spicy oak and earth on the nose. Dense but tight on the palate, with sappy red berry flavors offering very good intensity and lift. This, too, is almost liqueur-like but retains good freshness of red fruit flavor. In a rather masculine style, finishing with solid tannic structure. From a late-ripening spot, notes Browne. I'd give this one a good two or three years in the cellar.

Graceful and somewhat subdued in this mix of wines, having become with time more elegant and refined and less opulent. This exhibits complex, delicate flavors of tar, wilted rose, forest floor and glazed brown sugar.

Very good right now but can still go a couple more years at least. Very full and lush while being not over the top sweet and syrupy. Has hints of damp mushroom and leather covered in bright pure cherry and strawberry. Delicious and has some complexity.
