Saturated, bright ruby. Grapey aromas of crushed cassis, blackberry and licorice. Dense, sweet and full; broadens out impressively toward the back half and saturates the palate with dark fruit flavors. Relies as much on its firm spine of acidity as on its very fine tannins for structure.

A blend of three cool climate vineyards from Napa's southern sector, Coombsville, Stags Leap, and Oak Knoll, the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon (includes 3% Petit Verdot) exhibits plenty of spicy oak, but it is dominated by sweet blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with notions of charcoal, acacia flowers, and pain grille. This full-bodied, exotic, flamboyant Cabernet possesses wonderful color, richness, and glycerin. Drink this voluptuous 2004 over the next 10-15 years.

Firm, raw, intense and enormously tannic, this packs in loads of currant, blackberry and powerful tannins on the finish.
