($75) Dark red. Highly expressive aromas of blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry accented by cinnamon and white pepper. Impressively pure and energetic, with vibrant red and dark berry flavors, subtle minerality and a fine-grained, silky texture. Finishes with excellent energy and a late note of floral pastille.

Violet, cranberry, cherry, pomegranate, and rose petal aromas jump from the glass of the tangy, medium-bodied 2004 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard. Fresh and lively with good acidity and not the weight or intensity of the Cuvee Catherine, it is a beautifully fragrant, complex Pinot Noir to drink over the next decade.

A great wine and I totally enjoyed it. A nice barnyard note combined with fruity and hints of flowers on the nose. It's deliciously sweet and tender. A rich pinot with well structured body and nicely balanced flavors that made me want to take more sips. A better finish might help. However, with the nice nose and body, I am happy and willing to be not picky on the finish.

Had this many times. It is just too ripe for my liking. This time I tried to judge it for its style. Very pleasant initially, however turned into alcoholic mess after 5 hours. Should I wait 10 hours?

possibly a corked or "skunked" bottle. Sour notes without much residual fruit. disappointing.
