Subtle spice and smoke complicate fresh pear and pit fruit flavors; slowly unfolds to show more energetic citrus tones. Finishes precise and mineral-driven, with excellent length. With a production of 1,800 cases, the fabulous 2004 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard is reminiscent of a top vintage of Mt. Eden Chardonnay with its floral, honeysuckle, mineral, and buttery fruit notes. It also reveals notions of roasted nuts, orange blossoms, and lemon oil as well as stunning concentration and definition. It should drink well for a decade.

Same deep yellow color, wonderful nose and excellent body and structure. However this year was overly flinty with a distinct metallic end note. Didn't completely distract from the wine as it mellowed as it opened up. Still a very good wine and may have just been a slightly off bottle.

Stone fruit, lemon curd, a pie full of baking spices, and vanilla. Somewhat hot and harsh, but with a stunning finish.
