($75; bottled in August of 2006; 14.8% alcohol; 60% new oak) Good bright ruby-red. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, licorice and aromatic spices. Richer and seemingly riper than the young 2005, but with lovely definition to the flavors of redcurrant and sour cherry. This features a lusher, softer, sweeter middle followed by chewier and more obvious tannins that showed a firmer edge with aeration.

The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon (includes Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Merlot in the blend) spent 20 months in barrels prior to bottling. Dark ruby/purple with a restrained but sweet nose of black currants, plums, damp earth, licorice, and white chocolate, it is an elegant, medium-bodied, opulent effort with sweet tannin and a long finish. This is a strong vintage for Forman's Cabernet, and it should age nicely for 15 or more years.

Dusty, cedary oak joins sleek, earthy currant and berry flavors in a tight, elegant style, much like a young Bordeaux. Trim and focused, this is supported by firm tannins and ends with a hint of sage and dried berry.
