Burghound Author: Allen Meadows Issue: Issue 25

(from a 1.48 ha parcel) Underbrush and a subtle vegetal hint combine with earthy red berry aromas with exceptionally fresh and bright flavors that are rich, sweet and punchy offer plenty of finishing energy and vibrancy. This doesn't quite have the same degree of phenolic ripeness though it's delicious and notably long in the mouth.

($165) Medium red. Reduced nose hints at briary berries and pepper. Then almost surprisingly ripe, lush and sweet in the mouth, with a silky texture and excellent breadth for the year. But the Echezeaux is still a bit more open and appealing today.
