($78) Good medium red. Strong oak tones currently overshadow cherry and strawberry on the nose. Then supple and suave but initially rather subdued and lacking in real personality; seemed dried by oak and rather tannic. But this pinot exploded with aeration, gaining in richness and sweetness of fruit and showing impressive persistence.

The brilliant 2004 Pinot Noir Finn reveals sweet black cherry, forest floor, and subtle mint and smoke aromas, a meaty richness, and broad, savory, full-bodied flavors. This stunning red should drink well for a decade.

Perfumed floral, raspberry and blackberry flavors are supple and polished, caressing the palate and finishing with a smooth burst of fruit.

Strong aromatic nose. Big and forward. This one reveals the strongest fruity cab character out of 6 pinot noir's we tasted. Good, rich, flavorful but lacks the great pinot elegance. It is more like flavors with power. this wont be your wine if you are expecting power without weight pinot noir. Although it tastes good, it's lacking a memorable and unique character. It kind of got buried in the background,

It was done in a stressful blind tasting setting. It is of a riper style. It actually gained complexity with time, with herbal note amongst black fruits. A better showing for Russian River that day.

This wine had a great start, with raspberry, black cherry, vanilla, and hazelnut blended beautifully on the nose. These flavors mixed with some interesting thyme and spice palate, and the first few sips were the pinnacle of balance - alcohol with acid, fruit, and tannin. After the fruit burned off though, the wines high PH burst onto the scene and led to an overpowering tartness in glasses 2 and 3.

I didn't like this as much as the other '04's....
