International Wine Cellar Author: Stephen Tanzer Issue: Issue 132

($136) Good deep ruby-red. Musky black fruits and earth on the nose, with oak notes that seem far more harmonious and subtle than some of the vintages of the '90s. Suave, moderately sweet and silky, with ripe acidity framing the dark berry flavors. This builds nicely toward the back, finishing with tooth-dusting tannins and lingering notes of redder fruits, gravel and loam. A superb showing.

Jancis Robinson Author: Linda Murphy

Voluptuous, ripe California style, with great concentration and structure. Fine integration of rich red/black fruit, cedary oak, polished tannins and refreshing acidity. The finish goes on and on. Ripe, smooth and balanced. (LM)$136

Wine Advocate Author: Robert Parker Issue: 168

The brilliant, super-rich 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection (this cuvee is now aged only 15-16 months in barrels compared to older vintages that spent almost twice as long in wood) boasts an inky/purple hue, and sweet notes of lead pencil shavings, creme de cassis, licorice, and charcoal. This dense, full-bodied, opulent, seamless, heady Cabernet is ideal for drinking over the next 15+ years.

Wine Spectator Author: James Laube

Has aromas of lead pencil, currant and blackberry. Tightly wound, dense and concentrated, with a dash of earthiness. Finishes with a supple texture and a complex range of flavor.

What a beuty! this wine is all high qulity....qulity fruit, dark and red currant fruits. High quality and smoky/toasty tannins, deep, complex, frech, finesse, exquisite floral aromas and long, sweety finish.

Earth, oak, and graphite bursts out of glass. Sweet oaky vanilla that lasts moderately. Great aftertaste.
