($105) Opaque ruby. Powerful dark berry liqueur aromas are complemented by a kaleidoscopic array of fresh and dried flowers, incense, Asian spices and vanilla. Suave and silky in texture, with explosive blackberry and mulberry flavors complemented by exotic spice and floral qualities. Finishes with superbly integrated tannins and outstanding persistence, leaving sexy spice and mocha notes in its wake.

Made from 100% Shiraz that spent 24 months in French oak (30% new), the exuberant, flamboyant 2004 The Factor offers up gorgeously pure blueberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with smoke, bacon fat, camphor, and graphite. Silky smooth, and, as David Powell says, "the most Barossa-like" of all his wines, it represents Powell's rendition of a Cote Rotie. It can be drunk over the next 15-20 years.

Very good wine. Dark, plums, huge wine. Perfect end to a long night of heavyweight cabs.

this one took a long time to open up. Recommend to decant for at least an hour. Hot peppery notes that soften after awhile, with blackberry, leather.

I drank this at a winemaker's dinner on 8/14/09. It had a FABULOUS bouquet of cherry, bacon fat, licorice, olive, vanilla, pepper and spice aromas. The palate was full bodied with prickly tannins...blackberry, black cherry, licorice, black olive, pepper and spice flavors. It was very muscular and masculine with a long finish.

Much of the characteristics of Cote Rotie on the nose. Dark berry fruit with soft mouth feel. Nice finish. It has potential to get much better.

We tasted this lovely wine at the vineyard in the Barossa Valley. Torbreck was one of our favorite vineyards--Tetsuya from Sydney (our favorite restaurant) highly recommended this vineyard.
This was my favorite of their entire porfolio! It's 100% Shiraz and it was easy finding Shirazes that we fell in love with--this was one of them. It was elegant, silky with notes of blueberry and a little mocha. Simply an excellent wine. They recomend aging this between 8-10 years. It will surely be a treat!
