($48) Bright ruby-red. Superripe aromas of black raspberry, chocolate, brown spices, loam and underbrush; quite Burgundian in character. Fat, velvety and full, with dense flavors of blackberry and chocolatey oak. This offers terrific depth for North Coast pinot from the 2004 vintage. Finishes very long and smooth, with noble tannins.

Thick with lots of brooding power. From new Remond Troncais plum, coffee, and spice come to the fore while from new Francois Freres inviting high toned aromas of vanilla, rose, and violet are emphasized. Looks to be another very fine and well balanced Savoy Vineyard Pinot.
