(from Cannubi, Rocche di Castiglione and Bric del Fiasc fruit) Saturated, deep red-ruby. Dark berry and roast coffee aromas show a hint of exotic liqueur. Sweet, lush and powerful, with deep flavors of black cherry, black raspberry and menthol. Finishes with a rather large tannic structure. A serious wine, but this has always been a bit tricky for Scavino to sell, as it's a blend rather than a Barolo with a precise identity.

Had not been stored well - exposed to way too much heat. Could still taste the core, but it was completely flat.

About This Producer

Established in 1921 in Castiglione Falletto, one of the historic Langhe townships, this estate is now entering its third generation of Barolo production. With a historic connection to the land at the forefront of the winemaking philosophy, this estate creates exceptional Barolos, Barberas, and Dolcettos. The Bric del Fiasc Barolo is the hallmark of the family's production, from a vineyard that always produced the best Nebbiolo fruit. In 1978, this fruit was vinified on its own for the first time and it has remained a special bottling ever since.
