(14.4%) An exceptionally pretty and high-toned red pinot fruit nose leads to elegant, focused and detailed flavors underpinned by a real sense of minerality and vibrancy. I like the balance here and this carries its alcohol effortlessly and with absolutely no trace of warmth. Classically styled Russian River Valley pinot.

($50) Medium bright red. Perfumed aromas of raspberry and dusty white pepper.Dense, supple and very ripe, with a flavor of sweet raspberry.Less sharply delineated than the basic bottling but fuller on the palate. Finishes with dusty, firm tannins.

About This Producer

The Fritz family founded Lynmar Winery in 1990 to produce world-class wines reflecting the character of the estate Quail Hill Vineyard and the Russian River Valley appellation. Quail Hill is a unique site in the region and is the exclusive source for the Reserve and Estate wines, as well as the foundation for the appellation-designated wines. The vineyard possesses superb qualities for growing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The combination of the vineyard's soil composition, long growing season, dramatic elevation changes, and clone and rootstock selections make it a prime location for growing these varieties.

The character of the estate vineyard guides the signature Lynmar style for all of the wines; red wines with rich, full, deep, ripe berry flavors with natural acids and soft tannins, and white wines with balance, composition, and expressiveness.
