Coliseum Block is situated up the windy and rocky Soda Canyon in southern Napa Valley. The low yields have much to do with making it Carter's most expensive bottling.
A boldly intense wine showing a bit of black pepper in the nose with dark fruits, earth and dried olives. Forward on the palate with plenty of new oak toastiness, black cherry, tar and mineral. Here again is a wine with plenty of guts that needs time to pull it together and will likely score higher in 2 or three years.
