(these vines are now about 23 years of age) Full straw-gold color. Sexy, superrich aromas of pineapple, vanilla, baking spices, smoke and coconut. Large-scaled, plump and rich, with a vibrant orange rind note; wonderfully sweet and opulent without coming across as heavy. Impressively layered, deep chardonnay with great purity and palate coverage.

Buttered hazelnut, smoky citrus, crushed rock, and subtle toasty oak notes jump from the glass of the brilliant 2003 Chardonnay Cuvee Indigene. White peaches, marmalade, and tropical fruit characteristics also emerge from this big, rich, persistent, extraordinarily pure and elegant Chardonnay. It is capable of another 5-7 years of aging.
