($85; a Bordeaux blend based on 85% cabernet sauvignon, from Jim and Stephanie Gamble's Madrona Ranch vineyard located near Spottswoode) Bright medium ruby. Black plum, black cherry, caramel and violet on the nose. Sweet and round but high-pitched, with nicely integrated acidity lending freshness to the dark berry and licorice flavors. Finishes with fine tannins and excellent length and lift.

A terrific wine, tastes like a first growth Bordeaux, great fruit, still some tannin so this could go awhile longer. Raspberry, blueberry, cherry with subtle oak and tobacco. Great nose and an even better finish. I would drink this wine any time and wish I had more than the one bottle that is left in my cellar.

Wow, this was just great. Consumed on a perfect late winter day after sledding with Diana and the boys. Decanted 2 hours. Beautiful chocolate and rasberry. Just gorgeous. An amazing wine.
