Cassis, plum, and pencil lead on the nose. Opens with round black fruit and pencil shavings with hints of chocolate. Quickly transitions to dominent tannins which indicate this wine will only improve with time in the cellar. Decantered for two hours before even touching this based on past experience (only improved from there). Decanter with care, lots of sediment. This is a wonderful food wine. It has paired beautifully with a salsa fresca that has a cumin flare. Any fatty steak (rib eye) will bring out the best in this young wine. Drinks well now and for the next 15 years.
