Bright yellow. Complex, soil-inflected aromas of iodine, violet and resiny oak. Dense and chewy but with a silky texture; complex flavors of iodine, licorice, quinine and pear skin are nicely framed by integrated acidity. Finishes persistent and fresh. This is about much more than merely fruit.

The 2003 Chardonnay South River Vineyard possesses tropical fruit notes with hints of wet stones and minerals, a deep light gold/straw color, medium to full body, and good concentration.
