Not sure if I'm losing my taste for Napa Cabs, this was too big, overwhelming and muscle-bound for my tastes (sacriligious, I know). However, let me say emphatically that I am one of the producer's biggest fans, and have enjoyed many a bottle of their Special Selection and Napa bottlings (I prefer the latter). My tastes are shifting to Old World styles. However, I can understand why many would like this, and still have a great deal of respect for the Wagner family and the iconic Napa Cab they continue to produce. Ready now, and can be laid down until 2015.

Dark murky red with heavy aromas of sweet cherry and leather. Nice body and complixity, still tannic and very much in the zone of the 2003 wines I have had recently. Not a blockbuster but enough flavor profile and consistency to keep me coming back for more.
