100% Caldwell Vineyard hillside fruit (57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc). Bordeaux aficionados rejoice?this wine submerses and drowns your senses with an incredible aromatic intensity. The nose is thoroughly unrestrained in its release of heady spicy violet, plum and sweet cassis. Complementary aromatic layers abound - ollalieberry, boysenberry, rock mineral, fleur de sel, cedar, mahogany. It's the first sip that reveals the extraordinary essence of this wine - cool black/purple fruit so perfectly melded to the secondary elements of black tea leaf, shaved bitter chocolate and mineral-tinged violets. It is aristocratic in its polished brutality...a true 'seigneur' of the Cabernet world. Velveteen-encased power with a sophisticated grip and dark core. Absolutely fabulous. Haut Brion with a muscular edge and a stunning contribution to the classics of Cabernet.

Big fruity Cali red. It's a Bordeaux blend, but not Bordeaux style -- almost Australian style. Pleasant enough to quaff and maybe it will settle down a bit with more age.
