(50% chardonnay and 50% pinot noir, fermented in oak; L26053): Bright gold. Ripe citrus fruits, pear and vanilla on the smoky, oak-spiced nose and in the mouth. Shows good depth and breadth, with intense spicecake and vanilla pastry notes clinging on the persistent finish. Displaying less overt oak than last year, and still quite young, especially for a ripe vintage.
