(from Santa Rita Hills fruit fermented on indigenous yeasts and hence the name; bottled at 15.3% alcohol - 98 cases made, $40) The very ripe fruit is sexy, spicy and expressive with a touch of alcohol that is followed by rich, warm, sweet and beautifully intense medium full flavors that offer plenty of concentration, buried structure and fine length. There is some finishing warmth but less than one would expect given the significant alcohol this effort is carrying.

($40; 15.3% alcohol, vs. 14.5% for the Estate) Dullish red. Smoke and framboise on the slightly roasted nose. Then fatter and sweeter in the mouth, with earthy soil tones to go with the raspberry. Not especially fruity.

Sweet red and black currants intermixed with cherries, strawberries, and rose petals are present in the medium-bodied, ripe, slightly austere and tart 2003 Pinot Noir Clone 115 Indigene. There is an underlying earthy/underbrush component as well as moderate tannin in the finish. This cuvee may not possess the stuffing needed to support the structure, but it is already tasty, and should evolve for 5-6 years.

A smooth entry that's rich and polished, with a pretty array of cola, berry, nutmeg and espresso bean. Keeps a solid focus. Ends with a spicy rhubarb edge. Drink now through 2008. 98 cases made.
