(the aggregate size of this holding is a whopping 3.4 ha) There is even more aromatic complexity with similar and brilliant red and black fruit notes though not the spice with superbly sappy, concentrated and very pure flavors that display flat out incredible length and impeccable balance. This will join the ranks of some of the best vintages of Ponsot's Clos de la Roche, which is saying something. It is however built for the very patient.

Deep red. Funky, earthy cherry and blackberry aromas, with deeper plum and dark chocolate accents. Chewy, powerful dark berry flavors show very good depth and serious weight, gaining sweetness and softening slowly with extended aeration. The most backward wine of this tasting, and in need of getting lost in a cold cellar for a long spell.
