Bright yellow with a slight haze. Superripe aromas of candied pineapple and lemon cream. Rich, thick, sweet and stuffed with fruit (but then this is the least thick and concentrated 2002 here, notes winemaker Morlet). Nicely framed by ripe acids. Finishes firm and fresh, with good grip.

There are 1,240 cases of the 2002 Chardonnay Mon Plaisir. Produced from fruit grown in Jess Jackson?s Alexander Mountain estate vineyard, it is a full-bodied, beautifully textured, opulent effort revealing notes of honeyed pineapple, orange marmalade, and oily flavors backed up by zesty acidity. This big, rich, exuberant Chardonnay is already purring on all cylinders. Drink it over the next 3-5 years.

Tremendous; packs in lots of flavor and offers plenty of finesse. It exhibits wonderful aromas of blossoming flowers, ripe pear, fig, apricot and citrus fruit with an opulent, rich mouthfeel that coats the palate. Despite all the up-front fruit and richness, this is an elegantly styled wine. To be released September 2004. 1,440 cases made.
