This new vineyard designate Pinot Noir from Kosta Browne was harvested at 26.1 brix and then aged in barrel for 17 months (all French oak with 42% new) prior to bottling. A slightly funky but complex nose of roses, lightly candied strawberry, and plum. Quite stern but with impressive length. Plenty of chocolate comes on at the end. Moderately tannic with slightly high but acceptable acidity. The wine needs time in the bottle to shine. The wine?s considerable concentration encourages laying down the wine over the next five years plus.
