($85; a 51/49 blend of cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc) Good bright ruby-red. Black raspberry, currant and dark chocolate aromas lifted by a floral topnote. Fat and full but quite dry, with currant and blueberry flavors. Finishes with firm, dusty, palate-coating tannins. This is a bit youthfully muscular today; in comparison, the unfinished 2003 is more elegant.

This wine has the highest proportion of Cabernet Franc ever for a Viader, 50 per cent. Very deep blackish purple. Extremely aromatic ? almost Bordelais. Thick and sweet and very Cabernet Franc with its pronounced, refreshing aroma. Lovely. Ethereal. Arguably the most Bordelais of the lot. Sumptuous. This may well deserve a higher mark.

Floral grapey aromas fold in with new leather and currant flavors in a sleek, rich, concentrated style that's very Bordeaux-like in its balance and restraint, showing black cherry, herb and tar notes on a long, persistent finish. Tannins are firm and integrated. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. 4,500 cases made.

Decanted 2+ hours still could use lots more air time. Fat, fruity, hell of a palate liner.
