Reviews For This Wine

(from Aloxe-Corton fruit) It's interesting but this is much more feminine and rounder in style than the Le Charlemagne with its distinctly masculine character. This is not as powerful but it's more elegant with precise, delineated and pure flavors that also enjoy ample amounts of dry extract and awe-inspiring length.

($115) Knockout musky, soil-driven aromas of lime, chicken broth and crushed stone. At once dense and penetrating, with elegant but seriously intense flavors of lime, lemon, powdered stone and mint. Wonderfully light on its feet for a wine with this degree of power and thrust. Great building aftertaste shows superb density and cut. This should age like a red wine, and will be spectacular in 8 or 10 years.

Obviously classy, sleek and fine. Obviously Corton-Charlemagne. Not bad value.

Aromatically, the powerful, dense, explosive 2002 Corton-Charlemagne offers spices, minerals, gravel and pears. Its awesome aromatics are followed by a muscular, intense personality of exceptional purity. Spices, earth, poached pears, apples, white peaches, and ginger can be found throughout this blockbuster's flavor profile, as well as in its super-impressive finish. Drink this elegant, muscle-bound gem between 2009 and 2019.

Refined, with a dense core of apple surrounded by pear and apple pie spice aromas and flavors. Bright and impeccably balanced, this is harmonious and well-defined, yet dense, and has not revealed all its charms. Fine length with a creamy texture.

Fully mature but years left. Smooth and balanced with plenty of heft. An excellent wine

Tasted in 2008. Rich, viscous appearance, golden color. Nice dry extract on the nose. Good acidity with a touch of new wood. It's trying to come out, a little out of balance yet quite good. Elegance as well. Lots of tropical fruits yet not Batard-like.. It is a CC. Try next in 2010
