($65) Perfumed aromas of tropical fruits, honey, oatmeal and nutty oak. Sweet and silky in the mouth, with apricot, peach and nutty oak flavors along with more exotic hints of mango and pineapple. Quite oaky on the back end, with a slightly dry, cyanic edge and a flavor of toasted almond. More dominated by its wood than most recent vintages of the Sine Qua Non white blend.

The 2001 Albino (46% Chardonnay, 40% Roussanne, and 14% Viognier) emerged primarily from John Alban's vineyard in Arroyo Grande as well as the Stolpman Vineyard. Possessing fabulous intensity (it actually should be decanted 30-45 minutes prior to serving), it is a full-bodied white offering aromas of lychee nuts, citrus oils, honeysuckle, and rose petals. Fabulously rich and well-delineated in spite of its large size (15.1% natural alcohol), it is surprisingly light on its feet, and finishes with considerable zestiness.

A rich, full-bodied, hearty rendition. Ripe, plush and well-oaked, with scents of hazelnut, roasted peanuts, citrus and pretty fresh earth and flowers. Chardonnay, Roussanne and Viognier. 513 cases made.

Wow. Still drinking fantastic. Smooth and subdued, the wine displays, honeysuckle and minerality in perfect balance. Sadly there is no more.

Every time I have had this wine, I have been blown away by it. It?s simply gorgeous and I personally can'tbe trusted to share it with anyone. A blend of 46% Chardonnay, 40% Roussanne and 14% Viognier sourced from the Alban Vineyard in Edna Valley and the Stolpman Vineyard in Los Olivos. Barrel fermented and aged for 15 and a half months on its lees in oak, 46% of which was new French oak. Medium gold colored wine with a strong nose of gunflint, sweet corn, apricot, vanilla, lime, kiwi, white flowers, and honeysuckle. Tons of sweet fruit is balanced with sufficient acidity. The wine has great length and finishes with loads of waxy vanilla and sweet white fruits. Heavy but light at the same time. The Albino is more forward than previous Sine Qua Non white blends.
