The dense opaque purple-colored 2001 Syrah Alder Springs Vineyard Homage to Ed Oliveira is a wine of tremendous intensity as well as a big, smoky, blackberry and blueberry-scented nose with hints of licorice as well as truffles. Dense, opulent, and voluptuous, it is a hedonistic Syrah to enjoy over the next 7-8 years.

A rich, concentrated style that zeros in on a core of spicy blackberry and wild berry fruit. Full-bodied and well-structured, it holds a tight focus and finishes with intensity and depth, with fine-grained tannins keeping the grapey flavors alive. 375 cases made.
