A tour de force, at times smooth, rich and creamy, with layers of complex currant, blackberry, black cherry and mocha-laced oak. The flavors run deep and are persistent, with ripe, round tannins and the kind of concentration that bodes well for cellaring. 1,400 cases made.

Exactly the way California cabernet should be. Deep dark fruit on the nose. The color is deep violet, almost black. The wine really makes its case in the mouth, med to full bodied but massive fruit while maintaining balance. This wine should be consumed in the near term as I really don't see it getting much better. Why wait though, it's arrived. The miracle however is how the wine retains its massive fruit without sacrificing dryness (silky tannins) or showing too much heat (well balanced).
