Bright medium ruby. Cool, perfumed aromas of blackberry, bitter chocolate and mint. Intensely flavored, concentrated and firmly built, with bright acids lifting the berry, violet and licorice flavors. Quite youthfully unevolved but already displays impressive inner-mouth perfume. Finishes with firm tannic spine.

Made from a vineyard situated near Angelus and Beau-Sejour-Becot, this 600-case blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc is fashioned from low yields and is put through a pre-fermentation cold maceration. The rich, pure, concentrated, opaque purple-colored 2000 displays all the hallmarks of this great vintage - power, intensity, depth, ripeness, and moderately high tannin.

A wonderfully sweet bouquet of creme de cassis, melted licorice, mocha, and vanilla soars from the glass. The rich, pure, concentrated, opaque purple-colored 2000 displays all the hallmarks of this great vintage ' power, concentration, depth, ripeness, and moderately high tannin. Dense and impressive, it will be drinkable between 2006-2018.

Almost ruby red. Nose of graphite, violets, blueberries, burnt sugar and dust. Palette similar, to a dry finish after 20 or so seconds. Probably sooner is better with this one.
