As it always is, this delivers remarkable elegance and completely harmonious aromas of red fruit, oak spices and Gevrey earth with almost the same incredible complexity as the Ruchottes. There is however even better power and drive with outstanding acid/fruit balance and seamless integration. I especially like the purity, precision and focus. Another great Rousseau Clos St. Jacques in a seemingly unending string of them. Terrific juice.

($130) Medium red. Cherry, plum and mineral aromas, along with notes of pepper and spices. Juicy and penetrating, with the best depth of flavor thus far of these 2000s. This seems to be putting on weight in bottle. Smooth and fine on the back end.

Strawberry, dark cherry, lengthy finish and relatively firm tannin. Balanced and elegant but incredibly reticent on the nose and that leaves it too evasive for my preferences. (RH)

Great concentration for the vintage and has all the traits of a robust clos st Jacques. Earthy, mid palate great with long finish
