($185) Red-ruby. Expressive aromas of black raspberry and smoky, roasted oak. Sweet but also vibrant on the palate, with complex flavors of minerals, bitter chocolate, baking spices and smoky oak. Sound acidity gives this wine lovely freshness and inner-mouth aromatic appeal. Finishes with sweet tannins and very good length.

Tastes like a grand cru. Firm and structured for the vintage, but with ripe, sweet tannins, this has so much fruit you want to guzzle it down now. But it's reserved, like a wine that needs some time to come into its own. Hard not to like on release, with thick black currant, vanilla and butter flavors.
