($83; these vines are 30 to 35 years of age, vs. about 15 to 20 for the Pajana) Medium red. Redcurrant, marzipan, minerals, mocha and coconutty oak on the nose. Plump, sweet and concentrated, with enticing red fruit and tar flavors. Dense and fine-grained but without quite the definition of the best years. Finishes with strong, tooth-coating tannins and a lingering note of dried flowers.

Mid ruby. Classic tar and mineral nose with real acid and tannin - more evident than in many other examples. For once this wine is not overwhelmed by sweet fruit!

Very good wine. A little early, but extremely solid view of the wine already. Full of stawberry with some spice. Open for about 1.5 hours during drinking window. Opened up nicely. Would reccomend one hour decant time before drinking, maybe a tad more.
