International Wine Cellar | 90-93
Medium ruby. Superripe aromas of gunflint, game, smoke and earth; less precise and vibrant than the Pommard Rugiens or Grands Epenots. Then sweet, supple and dense, if not yet as explosive or expressive as Girardin wines from Volnay and Pommard. "This is more hermetic," says Girardin, adding that this cuvee is from "cooler" soil. But a wine of noteworthy style and finesse. Finishes with smooth, fine tannins and superb persistence.

Smooth and aromatic, a little flat at first but opened up nicely after 30 minutes or so
Drink Dates: 2008-2013
Opened and served from bottle. Nose: pure terrior; mushroom, moss, forest floor, dried herbs, and a nice horse-blanket from the barn. Raspberries and blackberry on roses; medium bodied, well balanced, elegant, long. Really good.
