($84) Deep ruby-red. Vibrant, intensely spicy aromas of blackberry, violet, white pepper and roast coffee. Supersweet flavors are like a coulis of berries. But brisk acidity and a strong mineral component give this wine great penetration and vivacity in the mouth. Very long, firmly minerally aftertaste.

Very noticeable oak and wood spice on the nose. Would have guessed west coast pinot. still, it was quite a good wine - the nose had very pretty dark fruits in addition to the wood, and it had a long finish with a good balance between the tannins and acidity. Not my cup of tea, but certainly a good performance for the style.
