($32; bottled in July of 2002) Medium red. Redcurrant, strawberry, tobacco, camphor, minerals and earth on the nose. Bright, minerally and firm, but still a bit youthfully dry. A brooding Barbaresco that still has some slightly rough tannins to lose.

This wine strikes me as a cross of the 2000 and the 2001, and shows a very pretty nose of truffles, spices and eucalyptus, with plenty of bright rich red fruits on the palate.
