Medium yellow. Superripe, honeyed aromas of exotic fruits. Concentrated and fairly unctuous, with lovely peach and spice flavors shaped by ripe acids. Youthful, solidly structured and firm. Finishes with a flavor of apricot liqueur and a suggestion of oak tannins. Like the Coutet, this is stronger than it appeared to be from barrel last spring.

Lime and honey on the nose with a touch of grapefruit. Good balance and definition on the palate with notes of pineapple/marmalade and quince. Balanced with good levels of botrytis. A fine Sauternes, though surpassed by other vintages. Tasted May 2000.
