($105) Green-gold. Yeasty and rich, with powerful pear and white peach aromas and pungent notes of toasted bread and sweet butter. Very fresh and clean, with lively citrus-dominated flavors, a hint of candied pear and gentle, enlivening acidity. This gained richness and weight with air, finishing on a ripe note of orchard fruit.

Disgorged 28 apr 05. Pale greenish gold. Extremely fine bead. Compact, introvert nose. Still very tightly wound. Great tension but not ready. Lots of acidity and very fine textured. Embryonic.

Very lovely and stylish right from the start. Like Chablis with a reserved, mineral-impelled style. Fine floweriness and an extremely crispy lightness through and through. And the butterscotch is here already. Wonderfully delicious, but certain bottles are still too young and in the bud.
