More Vintages and Sizes of Comtes Lafon - Montrachet:
International Wine Cellar
Author: Stephen Tanzer
Issue: Issue 92
Complex, deep aromas of apple, pear, toasted bread, roasted nuts and fresh herbs. Fresh and youthfully unevolved, with concentrated, spicy flavors of noteworthy purity. Finishes very long and crisp. Quite impressive for the vintage, and structured to age.

Dominique Lafon's parcel of Montrachet produced his highest yields (30 hectoliters per hectare) in 1998. Four and a half barrels of this magnificent nectar were made. Harvested at 14% natural potential alcohol, it reveals pears, peaches, apricots, and flowers in its intense aromatic profile.
