Full red-ruby. Perfumed aromas of small red berries and exotic, pungent baking spices. Wonderful sappy sweetness and intensity but quite dense and closed in on itself. Superb natural acids brighten and carry the fruit through to a very long, very subtle finish. Tannins are thoroughly buffered by flesh. The '96 will ultimately surpass this bottle, but the '97 may give more pleasure for the next decade.

Vogue's 1997 Musigny is medium to dark ruby-colored, and exhibits a breathtaking nose of blueberries, licorice, jammy blackberries, violets, Asian spices, and stones. This magnificent wine is medium to full-bodied, sublimely refined, and detailed. It is a great Musigny in a light and lace-like style. Red currants and cherries vie for the taster's attention with spices and fresh clay in its luxurious, yet well-defined, personality. To top things off, this awesome wine's immensely long finish reveals loads of supple tannins, which will ensure the necessary backbone for cellaring.

Complex, velvety and muscular. Rich and pure, with mineral and wet earth notes, this clean, full-bodied, sweet-tasting, dark-colored red Burgundy is well worth hunting down. Gorgeous backbone of fresh citrus and acidity, but also loads of mellow spice, mocha, coffee and oak-inspired character. The chewy but balanced finish needs time.
