($63) Very dark ruby with a garnet core. Pure, high-toned raspberry nose, with hints of clove and cinnamon. Medium-to-full-bodied, with a noticeable bite of acidity but caressing tannins. Red fruit and cranberry flavors show through, though not very forcefully, and the finish is persistent and clean. Really nice juice. The nose has the rolling power of a top Cali cab with fruit,floral notes and pepper. The flavor still has bright fruit (this was an amazing vintage) and the crisp acid to stand up to red sauce pasta.
