Bright ruby-red. Ripe, spicy aromas of blackberry, black raspberry, cocoa powder, licorice, meat and eucalyptus. Fat and smooth, but also juicy and intense, with nicely delineated dark berry flavors. The structure currently dominates, leaving the wine a bit simple today. Finishes with substantial, tongue-coating (wood?) tannins and notes of spice and mint. Needs bottle aging.
