The enticing 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain, with a saturated dark purple color, offers up attractive, youthful aromas of lead pencil, vanillin, minerals, spice, and blackcurrant fruit. A typical mountain Cabernet with copious quantities of tannin, this medium to full-bodied, concentrated, impressively-endowed wine is well-crafted, yet backward and in need of 4-5 years of cellaring. Patience will be a virtue.

Remarkably elegant and understated for a Howell Mountain Cabernet, this succeeds with harmony and finesse. Displays layers of currant, anise, cedar, sage and spice, finishes with a mineral edge and dry tannins.
