More Vintages and Sizes of Beringer - Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley:
Recommended For You
Author: Robert Parker
Beringer is now producing 50,000 cases of Knight's Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. All of it is aged in small oak casks, of which 35% are new. The excellent, nearly outstanding 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Knight's Valley exhibits a dark ruby/purple color, and a sweet black currant-scented nose with smoky oak, and earthy, chocolatey notes. I thought this medium-bodied, richly fruity, delicious wine was outstanding last year, but slightly less prodigious this year. It should drink well for a decade, and possibly earn an even higher score. Look for more aromatic complexity and character to develop in these wines after 2-3 years in the bottle.

Young, tight and firmly tannic, this well-crafted California Cabernet slowly unwinds its core of ripe and delicious plum, black cherry, currant and spice flavors. Finishes with sufficient tannic strength to merit short-term cellaring, so try in 1998 to 2000.
