Magnum. 50% Cabernet Franc, 50% Merlot. Very deep and with a rich, orange rim but great concentration. Still youthful and a return to Angélus. Silky fresh with lovely sweetness and absolutely lovely now. Pure pleasure. Spice and sweetness and fragrance. Great balance and vibration. What a contrast with 1991! Long and reverberant and great balance. Rich tea-leaf aromas. Very sweet. Long.

Consistent notes which have shown cont'd bottle development and now drinking at its apogee which should continue for several more years. Quite dark ruby/mahogany color w/slight amber edge; lovely nose of black fruit, vegetal (celery seed), olives, casis and earth notes; soft integrated tannins; rich & concentrated on the palate; a complex, elegant, well-balanced wine with relatively low acidity, and an intense long finish (benefited from decanting an hour in advance). Lovely, now fully mature but will hold. A great St. Emilion.

Classic. Licorice and crème de cassis on the nose and palate. Balanced, with sweet tannins and a medium finish. This is still a very young wine. Tasted in 375ml.
