More Vintages and Sizes of Cantemerle:

I believe the 1989 Cantemerle is this estate's finest wine since their monumental 1953. This ruby/purple wine has an explosive bouquet of crushed blackberry fruit and violets, an opulent, lush texture bolstered by good alcohol levels and soft tannins.

Huge wine. Dark ruby-colored. Intense aromas of ripe fruit and game. Full-bodied and compacted, with masses of tannins and fruit, yet still closed and not giving much on the palate. Give this brute time. Best Cantemerle ever?--1989 Bordeaux horizontal.

This wine is doing quite well though at its peak or slightly past. Some of the tannins seemed to have mellowed allowing the fresh bright fruit to be quite prominent.
Bright but yet dark color slightly thin at edges (as expected). Aromas of fruit and earth and flavors that are similar with medium plus body and quite smooth finish. Slightly past peak as the tannins have really mellowed but remarkable amount of fruit remains. Will likely stay at this levels for years to come.
