Round in texture, with tightly wrapped cherry, tobacco and anise flavors extending into a long finish, hinting at toast and spice. Has more substance than most '88s. A complete wine that should be at its best after 1995. 4,000 cases made.

Garnet in color. Medium rim variation. Medium legs. Blackberry, Nutmeg on the nose right out of the bottle. Ripe Blackberry and leather on the palate. . Medium/Full bodied. Smooth texture. Medium finish. Integrated tannins. After an hour nose opened up a little more. A little smoother on the palate with predominately ripe rasberries and oak. The finish was medium to long. Probably at its peak or just past it but still a little life left nin the bottle. Very surprised that it has lasted this long and very enjoyable. Tribute to proper cellaring.
